Injury Chasing Cup Glory

Posted in General by the flying ant on the December 30th, 2008

Yes it is true i came close to piping the Whisperers Luderick. After failing I found myself more than eager to amend. Unfortunately my desire drove me to the rocks the next day on a rising high tide. What seemed relatively calm conditions turnedwith one freak set whipping me horizontal across a rock platform surrounded by 30 or so morning beach goers. Fortunately only my pride was injured as I sought cup glory. Though hurt on the inside I can promise you this is not over yet See you at the weigh in.

Sinkers Falls Short in Hunt for Ludrick Cup

Posted in General by james-seaeagle on the December 27th, 2008

Sinkers today fell just short of the Whisperers’ 0.625kg ludrick. He bagged a brace from the rocks this afternoon but his biggest weighed in at only 0.610kg. Weigh-master Boyle may be kept busy this festive season if this little battle escalates into a full blown war. Controversy still abounds over whether the sudden death rule or the heaviest at next weigh-in rule applies.

While most club members were up to their gills in xmas festivities, the Whisperer was bagging a fat Ludrick off the shelf also known as never you mind that may secure him the Ludrick Cup. The Whisperer was quoted as saying ‘there are certain times for celebrations & when the ludrick are running, that’s not one of the times.’

Current Financial Members

Just a reminder that at the Xmas weigh-in there will be a raffle with some great prizes to go to randomly drawn paid up members. So if you are not financial before Sunday you will not be eligible. Look forward to seeing you all there for a seafood feed and maybe a nice cup of tea and an iced vo-vo later on.
