3-Way Rules 2009

Summary of rules for 3 way comp 11th, 12th and 13th of September, 2009

Taken from Newport Arms Fishing Club rules.

      

 

1.   (a)       All fishing members must be financial within their respective clubs.  Non financial members are ineligible to weigh in fish.

 

      (b)       It is each member’s responsibility to ensure that they have all relevant Government Licences etc when fishing.  The NAFC, ABRSLFC, NRSLFC accepts no responsibility for anyone not complying with the law.

 

2.   The competition is divided into divisions and a member may compete in as many divisions as they wish.  The Divisions are: Deep Sea Boat, Estuary Boat, Deep Sea Individual, Estuary Individual, Rock and Beach, as well as Ladies and a Junior Division.

      Ladies points will accrue in the following divisions: Ladies/ open/ selected.

 

3.      Competition and weigh in time:  The competition will begin at 5.00pm Friday, 11th of September and cease at 12.00pm 13th of September.  The weigh in will be at the Narrabeen RSL Club on the Sunday and all anglers and their catch must be within the weigh in area by 1.00 pm to qualify for the competition.

 

4.      We request that competitors weigh in by boat, i.e. weigh in order if you are on the same boat.

 

5.      All fish to be gilled and gutted, including roe, prior to the weigh in unless claiming a world record.

 

6.      Species length, weight and points value shall be as Newport Arms Fishing Club rules.

 

7.      Any member not complying with club rules will have their entire catch disqualified and be forever embarrassed by their indiscretion.

 

8.      All boats used in the event will have to be licensed and have relevant insurance.

 

9.      In the boating divisions, it is the competitor’s responsibility to ensure WaterWays rules are obeyed and all safety equipment is carried.

 

10. Rock and Beach includes fishing from a boat tied to a swing mooring inside estuary boundaries.

Conditions of Capture

 

 

A.     lines    Competitors will not fish with not more than three lines with a maximum of

                         2 hooks per line or 3 flights of hooks.  A flight of hooks being a number of hooks  

                         ganged together for the purpose of holding bait.

 

 

B.      Trolling     Trolling is permitted in the three way competition.

 

 

C.     Boats     (a) Offshore   There should be a minimum of two people per boat during offshore

                                               Competitions.

 

                       (b)  Estuary     It is recommended there be two people on your boat.

 

D.     Capture    All fish shall be taken on rod or reel or handline using bait, lures of soft plastics.
                          They must be hooked, played and landed by the competitor claiming the catch with
                           no other assistance other than netting or gaffing.

 

 

 

Weighing-In

 

 

A.          Weights will be recorded to the lowest 50 grams.

 

 

B.          Any fish having a broken vertebrae, a stretched or mutilated body shall be required to  

measure 3cm longer than the minimum length for the species.

 

 

C.          Species, length and weight as per the listing.

 

 

D.          Any competitor weighing fish in both Deep Sea Boat and Estuary Boat in the one

Competition will have the total catch weighed in and points awarded in each division,

At the Deep Sea rate.  Bag limits include combined divisions.

 

E.           Competitors and their fish must be in the weigh in area by 1.00pm.

 

Disqualification

 

              Competitors are liable for disqualification if:

 

A.           The method of registration, fishing or capture contravenes these by-laws.

B.           The competitor fished outside the defined boundaries or times, or arrives late to the weigh-in area.

C.           Fish presented for weigh in were not caught by the competitor claiming the catch.

D.           Fish which are frozen or in a putrid condition when presented at the weigh in.

E.           A competitor has any fish which do not attain or exceed the minimum length within the weigh in enclosure.
