Avalon Beach RSL Fishing Club was formed around 1983 & has currently over 70 members. The club has an open division, deep sea, beach rock & estuary, ladies & juniors divisions. Competitions are held once a month & fishing can be carried out from 5pm on Friday afternoon until weigh-in at 2.30pm Sunday afternoon. A barbeque is held after the weigh-in & many fishing stories are exchanged. The end of year awards night is a highlight as are 3-way competition between Narrabeen RSL & Newport Arms & the Nelson Bay competition. The club has a great social atmosphere & new members of all ages are most welcome.
